AJYCP undertakes tree plantation programme

JORHAT, July 21: The Jorhat district committee of the Assam Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) has begun the first of a series of tree plantation programmes to clean and green the environment the youth body planted saplings at the side of the Mallow Ali on Saturday and the event was inaugurated by upper Assam conservator of forest JM Kuli. Kuli while praising the efforts of parishad, said that if all open spaces were planted with trees, it would go a long way to reduce global warming and the consequent ecological turmoil. He also explained the social forestry schemes being undertaken by the Government AJYCP central committee president Putul Dutta said that the organization would undertake many more tree plantation programmes in the district and appealed to the people in general to green the environment. Jibo Bora, president, Jorhat district committee, AJYCP said that the most important issue in today's world was our environment, which was being destroyed by man's activities.
