Major Irrigation Minister K N Nage Gowda today appealed to agitating farmers and leaders of various political parties seeking higher compensation for land and other property that would be submerged by the Almatti reservoir in the Upper Krishna Project to withdraw their agitation.He said the government was ready for talks with them.Participating in a discussion on the issue in the State Assembly during zero hour, Mr Gowda said the reservoir would submerge about 350,000 acres of land.
