The Union Minister for Urban Employment and Poverty Alleviation, Ms Selja Kumari, said that the Central Government had taken several steps for urban development in the country under the National Urban Renewal Mission (NURM). Ms Selja said that there was no dearth of finances under these schemes launched by her ministry and the ministry had a budget of Rs 50,000 crore for this purpose. She added that these were demand-driven scheme and her ministry would take up all projects, which came before it for approval.
