Ambitious water supply scheme for North Guwahati envisaged

NORTH GUWAHATI: At a meeting organised under the auspices of the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) with the cooperation of the ward councillors of the NG town committee at the Karmavir Nabin Chandra Bordoloi memorial auditorium, the members of the GMDA who were accompanied by several office bearers and members of the NGO Consultancy and Research Centre, which prepared the scheme, apprised the invited citizens of the town area about the ambitious water supply scheme to be launched in the city.
The deputy secretary of the GMDA, Daya Ram Rajbongshi stated how altogether 63 cities of the country, including Guwahati have been covered under the Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Mission. The developmental programmes under the mission include supply of drinking water to the citizens for 24 hours.
