The minister was speaking to the press after behind closed door meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and plenipotentiary representative of Federal District of the Far East, Yuri Trutnev.
The official said that the project is running as planned, exceeding 80% of execution.
José Carvalho da Rocha said it was important to focus on the training and qualification of professionals as Angosat1 is supposed to be launched this year.
"The meeting was intended to review our level of cooperation, particularly the projects we have been developing in our sector with the support of the Russian side. We assessed the state of the project and we thought about the next steps to be taken, said the minister.
Angosat1 will be the first communications satellite in Angola, whose contract was signed by Russian and Angolan parties in 2009.
The work would not kick off until the end of 2012.
