The Australian Environment Protection Authority was yesterday attacked for failing to protect residents from the car fumes expected from CityLink's Burnley Tunnel when the tollway opens in December. The State Opposition, the City of Yarra and environment groups said the independent authority lacked the strength to stand up against political pressure and demand a safer environment in relation to CityLink.
