The controversial issue of splitting MCD into smaller units for more efficiency, as strongly advocated by Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit, will now be examined by PMO. It is learnt to be setting up a committee to study two earlier reports on this issue and make recommendations that can be speedily implemented. Two committees had earlier recommended that MCD be split as it was unwieldy in its present form.
