One more round of ministerial talks on water sharing will be held between Tamil Nadu and Kerala before the Chief Ministers meet to sign an agreement, the Finance Minister, C. Ponnaiyan, informed the Assembly. This constitutes a reversal of an earlier position. After a team of Ministers from Tamil Nadu met the Kerala Water Resources Minister, T.M. Jacob, on January 4 in Thiruvananthapuram, the heads of both sides said the States had reached a broad agreement and that an agreement would be signed in March.
