In a belated but welcome move, the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board(APPCB) has ordered stoppage of all construction and related activities at the proposed site for a ship-breaking unit and commercial port at Vodarevu, near Chirala in Prakasam district, in view of the impact it will have on the health of people, livelihood of fishermen and the environment.
