AP’s road projects worth Rs 413 cr get Centre’s approval

The Government of India has agreed to clear and approve sanctions for road projects proposals worth Rs 413.29 crore located in six districts of Andhra Pradesh. The proposal is for taking up of 271 road works covering a stretch of 829.41 km length located in six districts in the State. EGoM approval The Union Minister of Rural Development, Drinking Water and Sanitation, Jairam Ramesh, in a letter to the Chief Minister, N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, has informed that the proposals from the State Government to be taken up under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) have been recommended for approval. These projects have been approved by the Empowered Committee at its meeting held in the last week of July. 6 districts These road works will be taken up in the districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, Warangal and Adilabad. While recommending the proposals, the Committee has advised the State to strengthen the second tier of quality assurance by way of inspection by State Quality Monitors and suggested the need to credit the due maintenance fund to the maintenance account.
