The Kanpur Development Authority has constructed an aquaduct in the South City at a cost of Rs 25.40 lakh to prevent waterlogging in the area. the construction has been done under the infrastructure head. The south city was the worst hit as during the monsoon water logging hampers the smooth business in the area. The KDA had got a Master Drainage Plan prepared by the IIT-Kanpur and it has assumed that it would manage a discharge of 18.08 cusecs. Thus the KDA in continuance of the construction of the aquaduct has with the collaboration of the HBTI prepared a structural design and constructed a canal below this having 18.08 cusecs capacity.
