In a permanent solution to the western Yamuna canal problem, the Delhi government is planning to construct an aqueduct over the canal since the Haryana government has failed to complete the project seven years after its initiation. Delhi government officials said talks between the Delhi and Haryana governments are on as Delhi is pressing to secure the rights to construct the aqueduct. The aqueduct is a system where pipes would be placed over the canal for carrying raw water.
