Some traders in Rajshahi allegedly use chemicals or employ kerosene stove method for quick ripening of green bananas, posing threats to public health. According to the traders, they buy green bananas from banana orchards in Baneshwar, Nawhata, Mohanpur, Bargachi and Puthia areas of Rajshahi, and the neighbouring districts and store them in warehouses.
