Arunachal Pradesh has 550 species of orchids out of which 300 of them are very rare, 50 endangered and four are rarest, species, according to A N Rao, the in-charge of Tippi Orchidological Centre. Since there was a less commercial beautiful object in India, Singapore and Thailand have taken the lead in exporting to Indian markets though many of the Indian species have been developed by them scientifically, Rao said.
