New Delhi, September 4 The Yamuna could have been tamed this monsoon, experts say, if the Centre and the Delhi government had carefully gone through two separate studies that highlighted the need to utilise the rush of water in the river every time it floods.
A slight swell of 3.44 metres above the normal water level is enough to cause flooding in the Yamuna. During the dry season, the level is at 202 metres, but during monsoon, the river can flood if the water level touches the danger mark of 205.44 metres.
Two reports were carried out in 2001 and 2002
