Asharikandi etched on rural tourism map

Asharikandi, a small riverside village in Dhubri district of Assam known for its age-old terracotta art form, has found a place in the rural tourism map of India. Altogether fifty destinations around India, including the Asharikandi terracotta cluster have been selected for the Rural Development Scheme under the United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) for the year 2005-06.
