The recent excavation conducted by the Archaeological Survey of India in the temple town of Pillak under Bilonia subdivision of South Tripura district has drawn the attention of archaeologists and historians worldwide. Both the Hindu and Buddhist religions flourished here in the 7th and 8th centuries and the two communities lived in perfect peace.
