The Centre has earmarked an amount of Rs 102.89 crore for Asom under the Rastriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) for the year 2008-09, with the major allocation made for buying tractors and irrigation. While informing this at a press conference here today, State Agriculture Minister Pramila Rani Brahma said that the Centre has also sent a guideline for implementation of the RKVY funds to all states, including Asom. Five killed in road mishap Staff Correspondent DIBRUGARH, March 30: Five persons were killed in a head-on collision between a bus (AS-01-2225) and a car (AS-06-F-3086) at Kutuha under Barbarua PS in Dibrugarh district at around 10.30 am today. Pyara Khatun, Jahanara Begum, Wasim Haque Mintu died on the spot, while Yashmin Begum, Julie Begum, Mukibur Rahman and Fatima Begum were taken to AMCH, Dibrugarh. Yashmin and Julie later succumbed to their injuries while the condition of the other two is stated to be serious.
