The new Forest Policy of the Assam Government will lay a major thrust on bamboo forestry. The Government also intends to launch a technology mission for bamboo and cane, soon after the declaration of the Forest Policy.This was stated by Assam Minister of State for Forests Pradyut Bordoloi here today, while addressing an interactive session on the importance of bamboo. Mr Bordoloi said that the Government has the required political will to start a green revolution where bamboo and cane will play a prominent role.
