The Opposition MLAs walked out of the Assembly on Wednesday protesting against inadequate supply of irrigation water to the farmers in Kota and Bikaner divisions of the State. They alleged failure of the Government in procuring water from the Chambal and the Ravi-Beas river systems for the standing crops in Kota division and in the districts of Bikaner, Sriganganagar and Hanumangarh. The walk-out followed a debate on the threat to standing crops in Kota and Bundi, fed by the Chambal waters and in the farmlands along the Indira Gandhi Canal Phase I.
