The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham) has suggested amendment to the Forest Conservation Act and creation of 'reforestation funds' for facilitating reforms in the forestry sector.The chamber in a study on "Greening of wastelands: Incresingly the forest cover" has mooted a proposal of reforestation funds by allocating the entire cess and 20 per cent of the excise duties from wood based industries.
