The Assam Tea Tribe Students Association (ATTSA), Bokakhat unit has warned the stone quarry owners of Bokakhat subdivision not to exploit the child labourers below the age of 14. The ATTSA also demanded the Government to intervene in the matter immediately and examine the activities of the stone quarries in the subdivision. There are 15 stone quarries in Bokakhat subdivision. It is learnt that child labourers have been exploited by these stone quarries in large numbers as they could be engaged at cheaper wages.
