Well, the district authorities have worked out ambitious plans to involve the student community and the youth in the implementation of disaster management in South Goa. In fact, to finalise the road map with a policy for involving the students and community at large in calamity awareness, District Collector, South G P Naik even intends to have an interaction with heads of educational institution. Says Naik: The Parliament has enacted the Disaster Management Act 2005, wherein a whole new system to meet disaster and its aftermath is being provided.
