To create awareness among the rural masses on the benefits of the National Rural Employment Assurance Act (NREGA), an awareness meeting was organized by the Biswanath Civil Administration yesterday at the SDO (c) office Conference hall with the lat mondals and gaon burahs under Biswanath subdivision Vishal Solanki, SDO (C), Biswanath presided over the meeting which was also graced by Mahadananda Hazarika, Project Director, DRDA, Sonitpur. Addressing the occasion, the project director while explaining on the different aspects of the NREGA, he stated that the gaon burahs and the lat mondals has a great role to play towards creating mass awareness among the rural population. He stated that people above 18 years in a family would be eligible to get 100-days job opportunity for which job cards would be issued after registration at the local GPs. The meeting was also attended by the Circle Officer, Biswanath Jatin Bora, EACs A J Rueman, Bibek Shyam, SDIPRO Pranjit Hazarika.
