Digging in to the old records,AIADMK MLA Viswanathan slammed the DMK, Union Road Transport and Shipping Minister TR Baalu in particular, of impeding power project implementation during the AIADMK tenure. His ministry (Baalu was Union Forest Minister then) declined to clear Pykara power project, simply because the AIADMK Government had moved it, Viswanathan alleged and summed up his charges by stating that they were forced to move the Supreme Court against Union Forest Ministry and clear the project. The previous AIADMK government approached the Union Forest Ministry to help procure forest land for the power projects, which the ministry denied, Viswanathan reasoned. Disturbing the DMK by citing flaws in windmill and other power generation ventures along with charges against Baalu, the persistent AIADMK MLA yielded only after Speaker Avudaiyappan intervened and drew curtains to the speech for want of time. Thereafter, the AIADMK MLAs led by party whip K A Sengottaiyan rose and vainly urged the Chair to allow the party MLA to continue. Perturbed, MLAs led by Deputy Leader of Opposition O Panneerselvam staged a walk out.
