Back to future : NASA plans moon springboard to Mars

Mankind is one serious step closer to returning to the Moon today after NASA unveiled a $100 plan to send a new generation of astronauts on lunar missions a precursor to manned flights to Mars. The space agency's administrator, Michael Griffin , outlined the project, which he said fulfilled president George Bush's ambition to see a return of manned lunar missions.
