Bakun Dam project revival condemned

International conservationists urged the Malaysian government to abadon the resurrection of a massive dam project, which they claim has ruines the lives of thousands of indigenous people. Aviva Imhorf, Southeast Asian coordinator of the U.S. based International Rivers Network, rejected the government's claim that the Bakun Dam is vital to meet the future electricity demand in Malaysia's Sabah and Sarawak states on Borneo Island.
