Ban on shoots in tiger reserve

Sept. 23: The chief wildlife warden of the state, Mr Hitesh Malhotra, has banned the shooting of films in the Nagarjunasagar-Srisailam Tiger Reserve at Nallamala stating that the chase scenes, flood lights and other shooting activities pose a serious threat to wild life, particularly the tigers.
The forest officials expressed serious concern following the Aandhra Pradesh State Film TV and Theatre Development Corporation issuing film shooting permissions against the provisions of the Wild Life Protection Act.
The film development corporation, after collecting the cash from the film producers, is directly addressing the permission letters to the Atmakur range divisional forest officer to allow the film unit to shoot.
Wild life officials have rejected the permission to a Raja Film Factory production starring Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam, Aarti Agarwal and Faraha.
Officials said that Raja Film Factory had applied for permission to shoot some chase sequences from Munnanar to Domalapenta road in the tiger reserve area for six days.
