The dawn to dusk bandh, called by nine Left and democratic political parties, affected life in Guwahati today. Political parties, including the CPI(M), and CPI, the AGP and the NCP called the bandh in protest against the on-going eviction in and around the capital town by the forest department to clear reserve forests of illegal encroachers.
