Scientists at the Bhaba Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai, have made use of artificial intelligence techniques to detect very weak seismic signals which are otherwise difficult to detect. They have designed two artificial neural networks (ANNs) - which emulate the network of neurons (nerve cells) in humans - for detecting and identifying weak seismic signals, reports the journal Current Science.
