The Delhi government has decided to end the battery bus experiment on city roads after incurring losses running into several crores of rupees. According to government sources, the Cabinet has already approved the proposal to end the eco-friendly bus scheme which, according to the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, has resulted in a net loss of Rs 414 lakhs during 1992-97.
