BCPL completes land acquisition process

GUWAHATI, Sept 14: Total land measuring 2,978 bighas has already been taken over by the Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Ltd (BCPL) at Lepetkata in Dibrugarh district to set up an integrated petrochemical complex under the Assam Gas Cracker Project, Government sources revealed today. The district administration has assured to make the land free from from encroachment at the earliest, sources added.
According to sources, 45 bighas of land at Duliajan has been identified for the compressor station, notifications about which have already been published in July. Handing over of the land is expected to be completed by November. It said 90 per cent of the land required for the petrochemical project has been acquired and the work for the remaining land is under process and expected to be completed shortly.
According to sources, the rehabilitation work for the people whose land has been acquired is under progress and will be completed within two months. Three locations have been finalized for site grading and borrow earth
