Commissioner Tribal Development Jaideep Govind has instructed officers that every department should be sensitive towards primitive tribes and set its priorities in such a way that they get maximum benefit. Govind was reviewing the ongoing development schemes for primitive tribes yesterday at Sheopur. Those present at the meeting included Director Primitive Tribes Group RS Khare, Sheopur collector and various district level departmental heads. Jaideep Govind asked the officers to include schemes being conducted by Sahariya Agency in their priorities. He called for development of such a system for monitoring and evaluation schemes meant for Sahariya primitive tribe that the concerning district collector can have information about every village's situation every month. This task might be entrusted to the nodal officers of Parakh programme. The commissioner emphasized the need for wide publicity of schemes meant for Sahariya primitive tribes with the help of Kotwars and Gram Panchayat members. They must also be provided maximum benefit under Janshree Beema Yojana. The Commissioner Tribal Development minutely reviewed the welfare schemes for Sahariya primitive tribes. He exhorted the officers to present utilisation certificates of completed works at the earliest. Expressing displeasure over incomplete works, he directed the concerning officers for their early completion. The works entrusted to various construction agencies were also reviewed at the meeting. District Project Officer of Rajiv Gandhi Shiksha Mission informed that meeting that 2360 boys and girls have yet to be admitted in schools and their admission in schools would be ensured during the current month. Woman and Child Development Officer informed that the occurrence of malnutrition had come down in Sheopur district. District Health Officer informed that efforts were being undertaken to remove malnutrition in children by keeping them under surveillance in hospitals under NHRC scheme. He said that tribals are also being made aware about the importance of cleanliness through counselling.
