The report that the proposed beautification drive with widening of raods launched by the Jammu and Kashmir government, a commendable move as such, has some standing trees as the casualty, is indeed shocking. In a move to widen the Bikram Chowk across the Tawi bridge not only the green roundabout has been pruned but even two Chinar trees too have been uprooted should make the official claims of the city's beautification appear hollow...editorial
