Beig announces scores of schemes for Kalaroos

Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Beig today said that government was committed to provide basic amenities to the people especially in the rural and far-flung areas. He claimed "massive development has taken place in all sectors during the last five and half years and people can make feel the difference on ground". Beig was addressing a largely attended public meeting at Kalaroos in Kupwara today. Deputy Chief Minister announced Rs. 92 lakh for Madhumu Water Supply Scheme in Kalaroos. He said that water supply scheme for village Mohrinag, Sirculinag, Gund Jahangir and Lessyal would be launched soon. He also announced setting up of a water filtration plant in the area, construction of bridge over Mohrinallah, construction of Thiyan Sundi road, Sarkuli-Gund Dachhi road, Hi-gund, Kysan road and Nashinal road. Beig said that Centre has sanctioned Rs. 28 crore for electrification of Kupwara district under Rajiv Gandhi Vidhut Yojna. He said all vulnerable areas would be properly electrified in the district. Referring to the various policies introduced by the Government, the Deputy Chief Minister said that we have restored peace with dignity for the people of the state " the people were fed up by certain draconian laws and policies introduced by previous regimes which had inflected miseries on the people", he asserted. Cautioning people against the elements of exploitation, the Deputy Chief Minister said government with its sustained efforts pulled the state out of the retrogress and morass besides putting it on road to progress, peace and stability. This, he said could not be allowed to retract Nizam-ud-Din Bhat, MLC also spoke on the occasion and highlighted various achievements recorded by the government within a short-span of time. Advocate Abdul Haq Khan and Nazir Lone also spoke on the occasion.
