BHEL aims to become accident-free by 2015

BHEL Tiruchi has come out with a protocol – Safety Vision 2015 – to make the company an accident-free one by the year 2015, said A.V.Krishnan, Executive Director. Mr.Krishnan was speaking at the 43rd National Safety Day function held on the factory premises here on Tuesday.
Mr.Krishnan said that BHEL has been taking numerous steps towards achieving zero-accident operations and called upon all employees to strictly adhere to safety rules and regulations to realise the vision .
Stating that there is no place for complacency in using personal protective equipment, the ED said that safety should become a way of life and everyone should learn from experience. The duty of every employee is to strictly adhere to safety procedures and any lapse would not only affect the individual employee but also the organisation, he said.
The programme commenced with the hoisting of safety flag. R.S.Deenadayalu, General Manager, Operations (Boiler Shop), and J.Kannan, General Manager, Quality, administered the Safety Day Pledge to the employees in Tamil and English respectively. Mr.Krishnan released a booklet on ‘LPG Safety’ and two CDs on ‘Role & Responsibilities on Safety in Industries’ and ‘Health Hazards’.
