BHEL bags Rs 6,300 cr thermal power contract

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has bagged the Rs 6,300 crore contract from Raichur Power Corporation Limited (RPCL) for setting up a 1,600 MW supercritical thermal power project in Karnataka. The project envisages design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of two coal-fired thermal units of 800 MW each with supercritical parameters at Yeramarus in Raichur district. BHEL has commissioned about 4,300 MW of power generating sets in the State, which include thermal as well as hydro units of various ratings.
