The size of the hole in the ozone layer over Antarctica was the largest ever measured and lasted a month longer than the year before, Argentine meteorologists said. The National Weather Service(SMN) said the yearly stage, called an epidose, in which the ozone hole appears over the Antarctic ended last week and was "the largest and most intense on recrod."
