The state government has prepared a 20-year plan to increase the forest cover in the state to the stipulated 33 per cent from the current 17 per cent. This was stated by the minister of environment and frests. Tulsi Das Mehta, in the assembly on Friday while replying to a discussion on the budgetary demand for his department amounting to over Rs 168 crores.
