Counsel appearing for the State of West Bengal before the Environment Bench of the Chief Justice, Mr A K Mathur and Mr Justice Girish Chandra Gupta of Calcutta High Court today informed the court that the state government had decided to enact legislation to prevent nailing of trees in non-forest areas.The court directed the state to take steps to prevent nailing of trees till the legislation was enacted.
