There are scored of Bio-diesel plants abroad. But attempts to promote the fuel in the country have not been converted into any policy decision yet. Experiments are on even here in the Capital and in the near future this may be the cleanest fuel of them all. Veggie vans have started playing the streets of different metros in the United States. And the tests that are being done in Delhi suggest that policy gurus might have to wake up and take notice of this eco-friendly option. Veggie vans or bean buses which are run on vegetable seed oils, already in vogue in the West, may soon hit the road here provided decision makers act fast. Minister of State Annasaheb Patil said the fuel would cost just Rs 14 per litre and would be a boon for autodrivers.
