Congress MP Madhusudan Mistry derided the BJP for cajoling tribals to attract votes through the Gaurav Yatra, but actually doing nothing substantial for their upliftment. He stated that under the Gujarat pattern, Rs 146.88 crore was the planned expenditure for tribal development,but till November 2001, the state government had spend only Rs 35.13 crore, which amounts to barely 24 per cent of the allocation.
