The Karnataka State Government has become a laughing stock in the eyes of the public regarding encroachment of forest land, said BJP leader and MLC B S Yediurappa. The State Government must file a review petition before the Supreme Court explaining the lapses it had committed regarding forest land. The SC may consider Karnataka's case favourably if it could assure the former that the Government was ready to grow good forest in at least two lakh hectares of land in lieu of 91,000 hectares of encroached land within the state.
