Nature Magazine reports that scientists plan to artificially create a cosmic black hole, event horizon and all on the computer desktop using frozen light to mimic this cosmic phenomenon. This is the natural follow-up of astrophysicist and cosmologist Stephen Hawking's theory of black holes which states that radiation is emitted around the event horizon, born of sparks created by friction from disappearing objects.
