'Hasiru Bangalore' (Green Bangalore) project, envisaging plantain of one lakh saplings of various variety, was launched at the BMP head-office in the city today by Mayor K Chandrashekar and BMP Commissioner M R Sreenivasamurthy. This if for the first time that the BMP has undertaken such a massive programme for greening Bangalore. The 'Hasiru Bangalore' project was included in this year's budget by the BMP and a separate allocation of Rs 10 lakh has been made for the purpose.
