BMP plans to give fresh lease of life for neglected parks

The ambitious programme of the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike - "Jana Udyana Vana" - aimed at restoring greenery to the city by developing 100 parks and gardens is set to be launched by Chief Minister S M Krishna in the first week of July. This is for the first time in the history of the civic agency that such a mammoth programme is being undertaken at one go. Under "Jana Udyana Vana", 100 parks in 87 wards of the city have been identified for upgrading.
