Ten families, working as 'bonded labour' brick kiln, where they had been employed, at Vellivoyal in Ponneri taluk, 30 km from Chennai. The law specifies that Rs 1,000 be provided to every labourer as immediate relief. The balance of Rs 19,000 should be given later, but "without any delay". Provisions also exist for providing unskilled jobs to these rescued laboureres, if they desire to be engaged.
