"Kokrajhar and Bongaigaon are the most important forest districts of Assam," observed State Minister of Forests, Mr. Pradyut Bordoloi, while attending the People's participation in forest management programme held at the Pragati Bhavan in Kokrajhar recently. Stressing the growing need for preserving the forest, the Minsiter said that time has come to form some eco-battalion to save forest resources. Mr. Bordoloi further added that the concept of Joint Forest Management (JFM) is more applicable to protect the forest resources and endangered wild animals through people's participation.
