Building in harmony with Nature

Nature is always a great inspiration for artists and architects. It is the basis of creativity. The analogy is extended to building structures that are visually appealing and look in sync with the Nature. It is called organic architecture. This century-old tradition is being revived now. Popular in Europe, organic architecture, which uses principles of science in a plant or an animal, is making inroads into India with Kerala leading the way. The School of Architecture and Planning of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) has a module on organic architecture. It uses the concepts of living organisms - for instance, skeletal beams to support a massive building.
