Transport must be the government's top priority in 2000 if business is to thrive, according to the head of the Confederation of British Industry, the business organisation. Digby Jones, who takes over as director-general of the CBI said road congestion and poor transport links were seen by business leaders as preventing wealth creation and threatening the sustainability of communities.
